10 Things
I’ve done before selling my first house
How did we get here.
For as long back as I can remember, I always knew I wanted to “work for myself”. I had no idea what that looked like or in what capacity but I spent many years searching for a career that would fulfill me. I only found temporary satisfaction. I spent my first four years out of high school in the United States Marine Corps. There is a certain feeling you get from serving your country that I wasn’t able to ever find again. After my military service, I went to college and got my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. I spent a few years as a medical receptionist, a parks and recreation specialist, and a teacher’s aide. Working in the school was the closest thing I had gotten to the freedom I was seeking. It was convenient to be on the same schedule as my kids. After two years as a teacher’s aide, I decided to become a teacher. While honorable and admirable, it was not a career I could do long term. After 4 years, I was burnt out. I sought out a new career as an Executive Assistant for a local successful businessman and this changed the trajectory of my life. I truly believe that was the moment my life had finally course corrected. I spent two years soaking up all of the knowledge and personal development I could get. I was surrounded by people that were successful, full of integrity, and a hunger for knowledge that was so obvious you couldn’t help but be infected by it. It was during this time that I realized what I was missing. Freedom. I had always been on someone else’s time and payroll. I needed to find a career that would allow me the freedom to make my own hours and work as much or as little as I wanted. I thought of so many different ideas, and one by one, they were struck down. When Real Estate was brought up, I immediately got excited and the pit of my stomach was filled with butterflies and hope. A feeling I had never felt before when talking about work. I knew I was on to something. I did some research, enrolled in the courses, took the test and passed, all within three months time. I found a broker, got sponsored, and began my on-the-job training. I am beyond thrilled to be doing this. Every moment I get to be out helping my clients with either buying or selling property is a great day! I truly am thankful everyday for this opportunity to serve you.
